Your information
Privacy
Policy.
This notice explains what personal information we use when you contact us or leave a device for repair.
Last updated: 20 September 20261. Who is responsible for your information?
The Geeks Garage, 106 Widnes Road, Widnes, WA8 6AX, is responsible for the personal information described in this notice. You can contact us on 07722 001473 or visit the workshop.
2. Information we collect
Depending on the service, we may collect your name, telephone number, contact messages, device details, reported fault, repair history, photographs of the device, job notes, payment and invoice information, and any passcode or test-account details you choose to provide.
A device may contain personal data belonging to you or others. We do not routinely inspect that content. We access only what is reasonably necessary to diagnose, repair and test the agreed functions.
3. Why we use it
We use personal information to provide estimates, create and manage repair jobs, contact you about progress, complete testing, take payment, provide warranties, maintain business and tax records, handle complaints, prevent fraud and meet legal obligations.
We normally rely on taking steps at your request, performing our contract with you, complying with legal duties, and our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the business. Where consent is the appropriate basis, you may withdraw it at any time.
4. Who we share information with
We may use trusted service providers for repair-job records, communications, payments, accounting, hosting or specialist work. We share only the information reasonably needed for that purpose. We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect legal rights, or with your permission.
We do not sell customer personal information.
5. How long we keep it
We keep repair and contact information only for as long as needed for the job, warranty, accounting, legal and dispute-handling purposes. Financial and transaction records may normally be retained for up to six years. Temporary access details should be removed when they are no longer needed for the repair and testing.
6. Security and your device
We take reasonable steps to protect customer information and devices against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. No system is completely risk-free, so you should back up important information, remove sensitive material where practical and provide only the access needed for testing.
7. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask to access, correct, erase or restrict the use of your personal information, object to certain uses, or receive a portable copy. Some rights are subject to legal exceptions and record-keeping duties.
Please contact us if you wish to exercise a right or raise a concern. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
8. Website and external services
This website does not currently use advertising or analytics cookies. Its hosting provider may use essential security and delivery technologies. Links to services such as WhatsApp, Google Maps or telephone calling open those providers or your device, and their own privacy terms apply.
9. Changes to this notice
We may update this policy when our services or legal responsibilities change. The latest version will be published on this page with its revision date.
